Hydrate Break > Episode 4: The Forehead Talk

Look around and count all the foreheads that you see. Never have foreheads been more prominent. Nearly every person has his or her head down with eyes glued to a device. To say that we live in a distracted world is like saying the earth is round. Some may disagree but the evidence is overwhelming. Jesus warned us that where our treasure is, there our hearts will be also. In other words, what we value with our time and attention will become what we love. Are we going to be satisfied loving our devices or would we rather love people better?

3 Take Aways

  1. “Your treasure is based on what you are willing to give up to attain it.”
  2. “Time is our greatest and most expensive resource because we can never get it back.”
  3. “If we give our time to the device, we are taking that time from other people.”

Bible Passage to Remember

Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
— Matthew 6:19-21 (NIV)
