In this teaching series, we will discuss how Jesus compared faith to seeds. Yes, small, insignificant seeds. Blown-by-the-wind, eaten-by-birds seeds. Why would He do that? Isn’t faith the most important thing? Hebrews 11:6 reads, “…without faith it is impossible to please [God]…” So, why would Jesus belittle faith? Or is he making a different point?
Seeds were never designed to remain seeds forever. Inside they hold the power of life. Inside the seed is a mighty tree or plant waiting to burst forth from its shell. This, however, does not happen overnight. It takes months to see any change and years to experience full growth. Jesus said faith is like a seed because it takes time for our faith to grow.
It’s okay to start small.
